#COVID19 Update for international students ✈️🌎 Nova Scotia will resume welcoming #international #students in early #November! To ensure the safe transition of international students to #NovaScotia, there are strict public health protocols in place for students entering the province. Once at HLIC students will also need to follow our school safety guidelines. “We stand for indigenous sovereignty and support the #treaty1752 rights for Mi’kmaq fisherman, to make a moderate livelihood by fishing their own waters year round. We staunchly oppose the racist and violent attacks on these people made by the non-native fishermen, and their racist supporters. If you are a #Canadian resident and don’t know what’s going on in #NovaScotia, please do some reading and educate yourself on the injustice taking place in #mikmaqi. If you are a #novascotiasmallbusiness (gas station, restaurant, hotel etc. in the area), or a resident of Nova Scotia, and you are openly supporting the non-native fishermen, you are upholding settler colonialism and white-supremacy. This is not a conservation issue, as some people might have you believe, this is a fear and hate based attack on the #indigenouspeople of this land, the same land that is heavily fished by #clearwaterfisheries and their local fishermen. The same land (and unceded territory) that our school is honoured to reside on”.
