THE GOVERNMENT OF CANADA HAS REMOVED COVID-19 BORDER AND TRAVEL MEASURES EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 1, 2022.
All travellers to Canada, regardless of citizenship, will no longer have to:
- submit public health information through the ArriveCAN app or website;
- provide proof of vaccination;
- undergo pre- or on-arrival testing;
- carry out COVID-19-related quarantine or isolation;
- monitor and report if they develop signs or symptoms of COVID-19 upon arriving to Canada.
Although the masking requirement is being lifted, all travellers are strongly recommended to wear high-quality and well-fitted masks during their journeys.9
You should not travel if you have symptoms of COVID-19. If you become sick while travelling, and are still sick when you arrive in Canada, inform a flight attendant, airport staff, or a border services officer upon arrival. You may be referred to a quarantine officer who will decide whether you need further medical assessment as COVID-19 remains one of many communicable diseases listed in the Quarantine Act.
Nova Scotia has lifted COVID restrictions including gathering limits, social distancing, and mask restrictions. At HLIC, we encourage all students, visitors, and staff to continue sanitizing and hand-washing practices.
Masks are no longer required on campus, however, if any student or staff member would like to continue to wear masks they are welcome to do so.
HLIC does NOT require proof of vaccination from our students.
